The Story of How This Podcast Came to Be
For the past year, I’ve been kicking the idea around of doing a podcast with my good friend Chris Favaloro. Chris is the founder of Hover Owl, an On-Page Analytics platform that provides visitor recordings, heatmaps, and other nifty solutions for eCommerce managers and conversion optimization specialists.
We met a year ago when we were both asked to speak about analytics at one of the startup community organizations here in Tampa. After the event ended, we stayed in touch and frequently met up for coffee to discuss some of the strategies we were testing for customer acquisition.
At the time, Chris was working on some very innovative direct mail campaigns (clear envelopes with screenshots and heatmaps to grab attention), that I thought were truly fascinating, while I had a strong interest in a Facebook advertising method that I had hit a roadblock with.
One Sunday morning we grabbed a coffee and spent about 4 hours working on this Facebook advertising strategy back at Chris’ apartment. After 4 hours, we had “cracked the code”. We both published our Facebook campaigns which were approved and live within minutes.
