I’m 100% obsessed with tools. I’ve spent many hours going through “100 XYZ Tools” articles, trying and testing everything.. for you! Here it is, the list of the most valuable, niche, and time saving internet marketing tools.
- SEO Tools
- Miscellaneous Tools
Text Analytics is where it’s at. This data can be used in a million different ways. My favorite use case is to crawl my competitor’s website, take all the page titles, then throw them into Textalyzer and look for the most common and unique phrases.
Need to get a quick overview of a completely unfamiliar industry? Not a problem with Soovle! Punch in your keyword and search all the major search engines. Identify the top books, authors, products, Wikipedia pages, videos, and more.
This tool is a life saver. After Ubersuggest became irrelevant when Google changed the way Google Autocomplete functioned, GooberSuggest came in to save the day.
It also significantly improved on the functionality of UberSuggest. GooberSuggest provides SEMRush API compatibility which allows you to view search volume data.
Internet Marketing tasks should only be hard once.. the first time. Any time you push yourself into new territories (which should be everyday), you should open up SweetProcess, and translate your findings into simple steps so you can repeat and improve later.
I spent 6 years as an Air Force aviator and learned the importance and value of making insanely complex processes manageable with checklists. I’ve applied that experience to my life, and I use the tool each time I learn something difficult that I would like to master instantly.
There are a few heatmap and visitor recording tools out there but Hoverowl is definitely my go-to.
The best feature of Hoverowl is that you don’t have to manually setup a heatmap for every page on your site. Once you install the tracking code on your website, Hoverowl automatically builds the Heatmaps for all your pages.
If you want to add Heatmaps to a decent amount of pages, you can see how this tool will save you hours of setup time. Since I manage a ton of websites, I don’t have time to mess around researching which pages I need Heatmaps on. I throw the Hoverowl code into the site header and move on. Come back a week later and enjoy the heatmap data on every page!
Mozilla Thunderbird (For Email Spying)
Right now you’re probably lie “ummm ok…” you’re adding an email client to a tool list?
I have hundreds of burner email accounts that I use every week for competitive email marketing research. Each time I need to study an industry, I add a unique email account to Thunderbird, then I go out and subscribe to every competitor newsletter out there.
I don’t stop with newsletters, I go after whitepapers, downloads, and absolutely any opt-in form in sight.
Then I sit back and watch the competitor data start rolling in. It’s insane how quickly you can measure up the competition in an industry by conducting this research.
Using this strategy, you can gain competitor insights such as: value propositions, market position, market differentiator, marketing strategies, upsell strategies, and more.
